Newport, Rhode Island’s Audrain Concours and Motor Week is the latest major event to cancel or postpone its scheduled 2020 occurrence. Originally planned for October 1-4, organizers have made the difficult choice to postpone the second annual event a full year, returning September 30 through October 3, 2021.
Concours CEO Donald Osbourne explained, “After welcoming nearly 70,000 visitor guests in 2019, it would be difficult to imagine a way to host them in the manner Newport and the event deserves in the current conditions. This is especially important to us as the enthusiastic response from Concours entrants, volunteers and partner sponsors indicated that all were eager to come together and build on the excitement and success of our inaugural event.”
Last year marked the inaugural Audrain Concours, created by the Audrain Automobile Museum as a replacement for the short-lived Newport Concours d’Elegance, which ran from 2006 to 2012. The reinvented gathering was a hit with participants and guests alike, combining Newport’s majestic setting with an early New England autumn date.
We look forward to the 2nd Annual Audrain Concours next year.
