Wear a Piece of Rauh-Welt History on Your Wrist

Purists may not agree with what Akira Nakai does to Porsches to appreciate his craftsmanship. Just to watch him work is a special treat, as we discovered when Nakai-San was in Philadelphia doing his magic on a Chevy-powered 996 a couple years back.

Now the legendary Japanese builder and founder of RAUH-welt BEGRIFF – better known as RWB – has partnered with Danish watchmakers REC to share a bit of his personal history with fans. REC is introducing two new watches, the 901 RWB Stella and the 901 RWB Rotana, each containing pieces of metal from Nakai-San’s personal 911s.

The gold-accented 901 RWB Stella uses pieces of metal from his first car, the Stella Artois 911. The purple-trimmed 901 RWB Rotana contains bits from his personal race car for Rotana Porsche.

Both watches measure 44mm in diameter on the face and feature a stainless steel case certified to 50 meters. They use a Japanese automatic CAL.9100 movement and sapphire crystal. Each watch is limited to just 305 units. At $1795, they’re fairly inexpensive collectibles that can be enjoyed everyday.
